I skipped the gym all of last week.   The Saturday before it (the 20th) I had done 37 miles and learned that TX is not completely flat.   I didn’t feel peechy on Sunday and that just carried out throughout the week and I ended up not going all week at all.   I made up for it though (I guess) I did a 44 miler on Sat and 57 miler on Sunday.

I took yesterday off as a rest day and was back at the gym this AM.   I only missed 5 gym days and I already forgot my morning routine… How does that work?

At the gym I did 5 min on ET to warm up.   I did 40 min stength training.

- 2 sets of 20 Chest press – 5lb (my right arm and shoulder still hurt a bit from my fall on Sat so I wanted to take it easy)
- 2 sets of 20 Butterfly – 5 lb
- 64 forward Lunges with 3 lb weights
- 40 reverse Lunges – 3 lb weights
- 2 sets of  Barbell Squats - 25 lb weights
- 2 sets of Plie Squats – 10 lbs
- 2 sets of 20 Bicepts – 5 lb
- 2 sets of 20 Tricepts – 5 lb
- 2 sets of 20 Shoulder press – 5 lb
- 100 crunches
and some other ab workouts

I was craving lots of veggies for dinner.  I wanted something clean, quick and nutritious, so I made quinoa and topped it with steamed veggies and a side salad.  It was a perfect dinner.

Couple days ago when I annouced the winners of my Temp Giveaway, one of my winnder contacted me and mentioned that she can’t get Temp anywhere close to her and so she didn’t see a point in recieving the coupons.   The lovely people at Temp send her a T-shirt instead since she couldn’t try their products.   This means I had to go back to my comments and using Random Generator select a new winner.

and the winner is……

Kelli of Fit & Forty Something

Kelli please send me your contact info so I can mail you the coupons.

There is no better dinner than quinoa with veggies. Although I did have some more polenta pizza and that was awesome too! I owe you one for that recipe. :)

There is a little voice in my head that feels guilty when I skip the gym, but obviously, you exercize your body and fuel it so well, especially in comparison to 99 percent of other people. I am glad you wrote about skipping, because we need as a whole to keep HEALTH in perspective. Feeling attached to the gym and less then because you listened to your body is YUCKY! Good for you, and now, I am sure your body is thanking you!

Sometimes your body just needs to rest. I think it’s good that you listened to your body, it needed the break probably. I am giving my body a break this weekend. I rarely go more than 2 days straight without exercise, but this weekend I am!

That salad, with the fresh veggies, looks so yummy. I love it when I crave vegetables! It sounds so strange, but it really happens sometimes. Pretty cool, huh?!
